After a week of Cambodia and Thailand, we jumped the border into Laos. From Chiang Kong, we crossed to the old French colony of Laos. Scott, 6 others and I got into a speed boat built for two, and headed down the Mekong river to Luang Prabang. The Mekong looked like chocolate milk, and the scenery was amazing. Finally we got to Luang Prabang and enjoyed a few days in the quiet old capital. This city was certainly the hightlight of the trip (besides Lao Beer of course). From there we flew to the capital of Vientinne. Not much to see there, so we naturally found the beer factory and did a tour.
